Garden Management

Garden managementUsing his extensive knowledge as a professional garden manager Patrick will first perform a detailed survey of the garden, including discussions with the owner, to get a full picture of its current condition and to identify any issues which may be present. He can then put together a full management plan dealing with both the short term day to day running of the garden as well as longer term restoration or development plans. The scope of this plan can include general maintenance according to correct horticultural practice, identification and restoration of historic features, staff requirements and training, public access and open business development and the need for any design or planting improvements; with the whole plan tailor made to the client’s requirements.

This can be done as either a one off project, or as part of a longer term contract involving regular site visits to direct the garden owners and staff in the implementation of the garden management plan.

Garden Designer

Garden designWith the plethora of garden designers in the market place today it can be difficult to know who to turn to. Patrick’s skills as a garden designer come not just from having an artistic flair and a good eye for colour, but also from the basis of being a fully qualified and experienced horticulturalist. This gives him a thorough understanding of the subject which enables him to create gardens that not only look beautiful, but which will also function properly and last a lifetime. He specialises in creating breathtaking planting schemes, either traditional or with a contemporary twist. An accomplished plantsman with a good knowledge of the nursery industry he can specify and locate almost any plant. Examples of Patrick’s work include the restoration of the historic shrub rose borders at Arley Hall and various exhibits for the RHS Tatton show.
